Over the past several years, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Hydrologic Engineering Center has made great strides in the advanced two-dimensional (2-D) capabilities of their flagship HEC-RAS software. The latest update, version 6.0, includes many exciting new features for both 1-D and 2-D river modeling approaches. Our team will examine both 1-D and 2-D modeling approaches, illustrate when to use 1-D versus 2-D, and review the newest features.

• Determine the proper application of 1-D and 2-D approaches for various situations
• Explore new features of HEC-RAS 6.0, including spatial inflitration and precipitation, bridges in 2-D flow areas, RAS Mapper improvements, and faster solvers
