Asset management is a set of processes to minimize infrastructure life cycle costs at an acceptable amount of risk, while delivering a desired level of service.


Content:

This class will present an overview of asset management, the best way to capture and manage data, staffing and infrastructure options, incorporating GIS and the process used to develop an asset management program, along with case studies.


Objectives:

  • Overview of various steps required to implement an asset management program for stormwater or water and wastewater utility
  • Understand how asset management practices can align with an organization's goals and strategies
  • Case studies from other communities
